Old Tom is a kind and thoughtful man who has become isolated and full of doubt. He believes he has discovered something fundamental about the human condition, and wishes only to understand himself and the world in peace and quiet. But over a few days, and under a glorious summer sun, Tom becomes drawn into Morbay’s stories and learns that maybe he isn’t as alone as he believes.
About the Author
I'm a neuroscientist, living and working in the south of England. I like to write books that combine fictional stories with ideas about the brain.

I highly recommend "A Brave Pause" On one level it is the well written story of a town of very unique characters with plots twists that will surprise you. On a more unusual level I found it to be fascinating study on human nature along with some interesting ideas on how the human mind processes thoughts & feelings & how this can affect how we see the world & therefore react with it.
